when the main oven is in use if you open the main oven door it trips the mains rcd, but it works completely fine if you turn the oven stat off before opening then back on again it will continue fine, ive checked the door switch and its switching ok could anything else cause this (sudden stopping of fan or heat drop?)
gonna replace the door switch to try it but im not convinced

Paul,

The only thing that operates when you open the door is the fan motor isn’t it?…..that is operated by the door switch, which you have checked.

SO I would look at the fan motor and/or wiring I agree that it is unlikely to be the switch itself although a badly insulated wire could be the cause?

it also turns off the element

have you disconnected the element and tried it also disconnect grill elements

would megger all elements it can be the grill element or lower top oven element if it has one
dont assume if its an earth fault it can be measured

thanks for the replies, i went through everything but missed that the light bulb wasnt working, replaced bulb and hey presto job done 😳 😳
