The halogen element (front right of the hob) had failed so I ordered the generic halogen unit from Connect part number ELE7052. As luck would have it, it’s an exact match to the old Ceramspeed original. Oh, and the new one was a Ceramspeed too.
I had a call from the customer to say that the centre part of the element (the coils) was not getting to red heat. The element halogen lamp lights OK. The coils get slightly red.
So my question is:- The coils and halogen are hardwired together so there is really no way that one can work independently of the other. So why do the inner coils not get as hot as the original part?
they dont glow,i have had this before and there is a thread on here somewhere about it as well, it just gets hot but doesnt glow the halogen ring does the donkeywork.
Thanks for that!!
I found the original thread about this very problem – and that customer thought the same as mine does – that the centre coils glowed cherry red. She is also convinced that it is not as powerful as her old one. (which had been busted for about a month!!). Photographic memory of convenience I’d wager!! 👿
Customers…….gotta love ’em……:bang:
