    Hi
    Anybody know why our grill should suddenly start going on and off when in use?
    It cycles about every 30 seconds from full on to off on both part and full settings.
    I’m suspecting the controller/thermostat is at fault but don’t know where to start looking or testing.

    Morning,

    The grill regulator is not a repairable part on this. You will have to replace it, are both halfs of your element working ok?

    Do you have a model number for this appliance..5 digits long ie 48309???

    The Model number is 48349

    Both halfs of the element work as they should but cycle from full on to off repeatedly.

    That’s got one of those nasty Strix dual simmerstats which will almost certainly be the cause.

    The replacement switch is a modification to a different type.

    The part is around £20 offhand, I would recommend the conversion is done by an engineer though, unless you’re confident with electrical repairs.

    Whatever you do, disconnect the cooker beforehand 🙂

    It comes with limited instructions I believe, as in the wiring modification but that’s about it.

    I fitted it and grill is now working.
