The above mentioned cooker has the thermostat on the two front plates not working.Do i have to replace the rings or can i replace the thermostat seperately.How do i access the rings to change them or the thermostat whichever is the case.Where can i buy parts.Thanks

First things first, Model number?

There are many different Solarglo models not many Solgario’s though. 😉

Secondly, how do you know the thermostats ( energy regulators) or the rings are faulty?

Have you got a meggar or multimeter and the knowledge to use one?

When you turn the individaul regulator can you hear a faint click or are the rings coming on but not being controlled correctly?

Access to the controls and rings on these ovens is not easy, isolate from mains, both sides off, hob released etc.

Thanks for your reply.I only realised yesterday that i can buy parts at Whitegoods.The cooker is solarglo and the model number is 48341.The front two rings say if you have the setting at 4 they keep heating with no clicking in and out where as the back two keep clicking in and out. I can use a multimeter no problem but i want to know what part to order.Thanks

That sounds as though the regulators have failed. The parts diagrams show the control panel separate from the hob so we would need to know by number from the left which controls are faulty, there are three different ones shown including the grill regulator.

Worth noting that the replacements have a strong chance of being of different manufacture to the original and terminal numbers/letters will differ.

Sometimes the new regulators come with the alternative wiring instruction, sometimes not. 😥

To get at the controls on this machine is quite involved needing removal of side panels, hob lifted back slightly then several bits and bobs from around the regulators such as the glass front have to be removed.

There are seven knobs with five on the left hand side and two on the right.The ones that are faulty are the second from the left and the sixth from the left which is the second from the right.Thanks

Are you trying to confuse me. 😆 8)

It would appear that these are both single elements.

Same part number for both..C00199654 or the old GDA number which is 6204034.

Not listed in the Shop@ but an e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will soon get you cost and delivery information.
