ParticipantDon’t have the model number to hand but it’s circa 1990ish, the type that blows the stats at the rear 6kg from memory. The problem is it’s peeing water out underneath…I’ve stripped off the back panel, resealed the ducting to the back panel and cleaned out the collector box underneath along with the heat exchanger etc but the customer has rung back to say it still leaks 😕
It’s coming back to my workshop in a day or two so I can see the leak in action…any pointers to look at before I start drying all my workshop towels? 😆

If it is similar to the Hotpoint TDC range, I have had leaks from the small drain tube at the back, this is part of the float chamber and I have seen one or two broken due to careless moving of the machine, the later spout doesn’t stick out as far. Also remove the water container and shine a torch into the back of the dryer to check on the condition of the inlet to the water container, also check the valve on the container.

cheers allyNeither valve is available separately, new float chamber or water container if leak is from either.

Thanks for the pointers chaps…looks like i’ll have to get it to leak in the workshop…at least I can see if the float is operating correctly having previously cleaned it out. IIRC the valve on the float chamber looked in good nick after the cleaning but we shall see 😉
