    Its a 10 year old model 48413

About 8 months ago the oven stopped working, after a couple of weeks I was surprised to find it working again !

Was OK until a few weeks ago, then it failed again, with the same symptoms, and doesnt look like its going to work again.

    The ceramic rings are fine

    The top oven works.

The clock works, the oven programmer seems OK (at least, it still starts/stops the top oven correctly). The programmer is couple of knobs which set the start and stop times on the mechanical clock. Not one of the modern digital things.

But the oven doesnt heat, the fan doesnt turn, the oven pilot light on the control panel doesnt light up.

I found that the bulb in the oven cavity does need replacing.

I guess it could be the microswitch on the door, as that switches off the oven normally.

If the element has failed, wouldnt the pilot light be on ?

    Any advice ?

    Thanks

Not an easy fault to diagnose from this distance, could be door switch as you say, more likely to be the main oven stat/control. If the element had failed the fan would still run. Please make sure you isolate from the mains if you intend to procede further. Or click on the link in my sig to see if we have someone in your area that can help.
