KeymasterI have a Creda Concept Solarglo Double Oven and the top oven fails to regulate its temperature once it has got hot – its like the thermostat gives up working. The oven then continues to be on full wack all the time.
I can’t find a model number for it anywhere, and as it is around ten years old, I’ve got no paperwork to refer to either. Apart from this fault it is in good condition, so I want to repair it. Can anyone narrow down the possible model numbers for me and suggest the possible cause of the fault. Thanks

Hi gadget
It certainly sounds like the stat for the top oven is faulty…this would be a worthwhile repair on an oven of this quality, unfortunately you stand little chance of getting a replacement without the model number. The only alternative is to remove the stat and get the numbers printed directly on it…it should be identifiable from that.
The rating plate which shows the model number (probably a 5 digit number) would most likely be around the door opening…check at the bottom of the lower door and ease back the door seal to see if its under there.
If you can get either the model number or the stat number then Dave Conway will be able to furnish you with one.
Don’t forget, you must fully isolate the appliance before any dismantling…make sure the supply switch is off, and if you’re not confident that the switch is a double pole switch then remove the fuse at the consumer unit too.Clive

KeymasterRe: Creda Double Oven
hi,
I am trying to find a user guide for my Creda Double Oven Cooker. It’s around 10 years old and there is no Model No at all writen on it. I am not confident in using the main double oven and the top oven as it requires the use of timer.
I would be grateful if you could help me with either finding the manual or giving me simpl instructions on how to use it.
Thanks in advance.

If this is a freestanding cooker, have a look underneath the seal right at the bottom of the lower oven cavity the model will be there unless the label has been removed/fallen off.
If you just want to use either oven, unless you specifically need to switch them on at a certain time there’s no need to worry about the timer, simply switch them to the required temperature 😀

I changed a top oven stat on a Solarglo only last week. There are around 8 models of Solarglo but as some of them are 220 V you must get the correct stat.
Not the easiest job for the inexperienced, both side panels off, hob carefully lifted back, glass facia and ‘all’ the knobs to remove. The hob elements are very expensive so you do need to take great care with this repair, ( or get someone with the ‘knowledge’ ) 😉 -
