Creda Dryer start / stops

CREDA Simplicity T622CW condenser dryer, approximately 6 years old

The dryer starts and runs normally for a few minutes then stops. It will not restart until a few minutes have passed, then it runs normally, but stops again after a few minutes.

Prior to the failure it was running normally with no indication of malfunction.

The water tray is empty, good flow of air, filters are clean, dryer heats, but not excessive. Problem occurs on both heat settings and on any timer setting.

The drum turns and there are no unusual noises or smells

I had he thermosats replaced a couple of years ago – problem then was that the dryer was not heating.

its the relay thats faulty!!!

should have asked – before I start tearing the machine apart, where is it situated?

under the lid, next to the timer…. bit fiddly, plug out when looking and make a note of where the wires go
