I have had the above dryer for 6 years and it has started to flash up after 15/20 minutes “empty water”. Each time I try to empty the water the butt is empty. The light then goes off and the cycle begins again for another 15/20 minutes. Unfortunately it means i have to start and stop the drying cycle to get get my clothes dry!!

Anyone else experienced this and if so how did you solve it.

    Thanks
    😉

It’s probably got a sticky float switch but we’ll need the model number please to help further 🙂

This can simply be that breather hole in the condensate bottle lid is blocked. The breather hole allows the air to escape from the bottle whilst it fills via the valve from the back. Without a breather hole, the bottle will only fill with a very small amount of water.

Check that you can see light through the hole, if not clean it out with a sharp pin.

I’ll go along with Bob on that but possible suggest better still that someone strip and clean out the float chamber. It’s had 6 years of crud and needs cleaning out by now I expect.

Try the link below for professional help on that score 😉

Thanks for the advice. The float chamber was cleaned out and it is tumbling away merrily!!
