    Hi
The other day our cooker blew its 30 amp fuse 🙁 . On replacing the fuse wire, we noticed that the oven bulb was not working but the fan was on constantly whether the oven was switched on or off 😯 . The oven heats up OK when you switch it on. The only way to turn the fan off is to use the cooker isolater switch.

When I came to replace the blown bulb, the new one did not work either 😕 . On checking the bulb holder it appears that the contacts for the bulb have ‘disappeared’ 😥 . I know I need a new bulb holder but I would appreciate it if anybody could advise me as to what is causing the fan to operate regardless of whether the oven is switched on or not.
    Thankyou

Welded contacts on the selector switch would be my first port of call.

Power off if having a look………

Hmm, struggling to find any info on this one. The fan is probably controlled by a switch assembly as part of the oven thermostat – straight behind the releveant knob. If it’s failed, it’ll be a complete replacement unit. Spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will be able to supply a replacement at a sensible price if required.

    Stay safe………
