I have a Creda Europa single oven, product no. E010EW (I think!)
It stopped heating up halfway through cooking a roast last night 😥
The fan is still coming on and the grill and light is still working. Is this probably the element at the back or could it be the thermostat? If so could I replace it myself or is it an engineer’s job. Also if I get the part myself will an engineer still fix it? (& can you recommend anyone in Brighton?)
Sorry for so many questions, but would appreciate your advice as it may be better getting a new oven if it’s too expensive to fix.

It’s almost certainly the fan element that has failed, you can get one here:

As for fitting, if you’re not confident then an engineer may be the best option but it’s fairly straightforward.

Power off if checking please, for an engineer have you tried the repairs@ link below ?

Thank you for your reply. I have managed to get the old element out without too much trouble. So I recon I should be able to fix it myself if it’s the element. Although a friend told me that they had the same problem with their fan oven and it was due to the thermostat failing which then caused their replacement element to break. Is this likely to be the case (it didn’t seem to overheat when it broke if anything it’s been on the cool side although I think there might have been a bang) 🙂

Unlikley to be honest but possible, although it’s normally the other way around. When the element fails on occasion it fuses the contacts in the thermostat so when the new element is fitted the oven will overheat which is why your friends were under the impression the opposite happened 😉
