Creda Europa Oven Selector Light

I have a built in oven. The light which illuminates the oven teperature dial has started flashing (similar to when a fluorescent tube has gone). I have tried to remove top panel by releasing three screws under it but it does not move. Any advice would be appreciated,

Creda have been making Europas for 40 years now, so we’ll need the model number, John. The one that starts with 4 on the rating plate.

Model Number is 48163 and the serial number is 37100278.

Indeed it is a flourescent tube (Part number 6221924 available via emailing spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk)

Access to replacing the tube however requires the complete removal of the oven from kitchen cabinet. Then the top panel has to be removed to get at it!
