Creda fan motor

Hi, In a fix – my Creda Electriflame 60
​​​​​​model #48305 (very old) needing replacement fan motor.
The only option at present because of the 2019 regulations – is repair/replacement part.
Could salvage old fan blade if necessary – if it will fit.
Anyone remember/know this model?
Any complications fitting bracket/spindle length/power connection wise – with an alternative that is not an original spare?
Good, solidly built appliance – all else still sound.

if your talking about the fan motor in the oven then as far as i know its obsolete
although theres an outside chance i may have one

can be fun to fit and stop the fan scraping the back because of the rubber mounts

if its got the small secondary fan then the allen key gets gummed up

can be fun to get the main fan off

as you say really well built unit but years since i have seen one

Haven’t seen one of those motors in a while with the long shaft. For what it’s worth the part no. for the motor is C00233779 there was a pattern ELE3559 which is now obsolete as well.

Thanks Dave we inherited this cooker about 23 years ago – never even pulled it out.
It seems like the increased use during lockdown has brought out the problem.
Hardly used the ovens before 2020 as I generally ate out while working.
I have got a Hotpoint engineer calling on 18/02 with a reduced fee if repair not possible – but if this fails I’m stuck – most new replacement cookers do not align with new regs.
I will get back to you if all else fails – so if you do find you have one – it would be handy to know.

think i bought 2 a long time ago because i was having problems with one

you would also need to check the rear fan as this was held on by a rubber grommet and motor got too hot if it fell off

I’m thinking I would purchase from you if you are willing to let it go?
Having not yet explored the rear of the cooker – I am concerned about what you were saying about the “rear fan’. Should I expect to find another fan blade attached externally to a rearward extension of the spindle?
it would be good to have a spare anyway as I doubt if the visiting engineer will have an original component

but its not a gen creda part

pure luck i have it as its not avaliable anywhere else unless someone else has a workshop full of obsolete spares

I would take a look at the old one first

the rear fan first as its a grommet holding it on, although you may well be able to get a grommet to refix it

the fan inside the oven can be fun to get off

then theres a smaller fan in front of the motor, will it come off, held on by a small allen key

also later ones had a rubber grommet where the shaft goes into the oven, if that has failed then hot air gets at the motor and causes it to fail

if your interested will get it weighed to determine postage

It’s turning into an unexpected adventure – this.
My first thoughts were that repair would have been unlikely, although an enquiry with eSpares did turn up something that they suggested was suitable (but I’m pretty sure it didn’t have the longer spindle).
So instead I turned to finding a new replacement.
Challenge #1 – finding a similar configuration of twin electric oven/grill and gas hob.
Having found one and ordered for delivery & installation – while surveying and re-checking the fit – I realise that the cupboards either side of the extractor hood are misaligned by 3/4″ – thus preventing the glass hob cover on the anticipated replacement from opening fully.
Hasty cancellation #1.
Challenge #2 – the permutation has got even tighter now – no glass hob cover is part of the mix.
Eventually find what I think is suitable (cost rising steadily) – and order another delivery.
Exploration online unearths a landslide of scathing reviews about the brand – early & dangerous failures – lousy customer/repair service.
Hasty cancellation #2.

I start reconsidering repair as this is a good, solid cooker – seeming much better than many modern cheap/midrange examples.
Even though I think I might be able to provide a replacement part – electrical engineers won’t touch repair as it’s a gas appliance – & visa versa.
Stumble on the Hotpoint repair site.
While arranging the repair they offer me a chat with their new product specialist as I had expressed interest.
Now – the final permutation slams down.
I discover that virtually no new replacement product is suitable for the same site – because of the new fire/proximity regulations.
A complete new kitchen refit is required for this – something I had not anticipated at all.
The only upside is that none of the orders reached delivery – to find then that they wouldn’t be permitted.
Still – what are lockdowns for, if you can’t have an adventure?

Dave – I am interested if it’s a fit – genuine or not.
I suppose the fitting locations/bracket is critical also.
There appears to be the occasional/intermittent spin attempt from the fan in its present condition – observing it by depressing the switch in the door frame with oven on.
I noticed some unusual noise initially before noticing it had failed.
I’m presuming I need to remove the mesh – & will find a reverse thread nut or similar holding the fan on to the spindle.
I would like to purchase the one you have – I can message you with details.
It would be good to have it before the scheduled repair visit on 18/2 as a standby.

the only fitting problem i had with the non gen motors is the screws they use through the motor are a different size to the original. the bolts are long at the front because a bracket bolts on with 2 rubber noise dampers. These bolts are slightly too big to go through the bracket. Think last time i did one i took the old motor bolts and swopped them

Do you or anyone else still have one of these motors. Your photo for Unifit s9 is exactly what I need.

Oven is a Creda Corniche 43992

Looking in this thread it seems the following part numbers may be compatible “ELE3559” OR “C00233779” OR “MT068”

If this is not available can you or anyone advise if there is anything compatible, that possibly needs wiring modified.

Original has 3 wires + earth
Most motors online seem to be 2 wires

Would a 2 wire motor work by not connecting third wire, or joining that wire to one of the other two?

The other difference from motors I see online are the length of the shaft.

If necessary I could arrange to weld part of old shaft to a new motor.

If I could find anything that would work with my oven and 3 wire system, even with some modifications needed would be much cheaper than replacing the oven
