hi im really hoping someone can help, my creda fridge freezer, its a creda easy store, the model number is 86412, i think the serial is 59100026 r134a, has stopped working after my mother in law defrosted it while i was on holiday, the fridge and freezer are now room temperature, the black compressor or motor at the bottom of the back of the fridge is hot, and the fridge is making the sound it normally makes like a quiet humming, also the light is on but it isnt cold at all, also i noticed there seems to be a dripping sound that i can hear when i pull the fridge out and stand behind it this isnt constant but i never noticed it before. if anyone could advise me on a fix it would be great as i just cant afford a new fridge right now, oh also the fridge is fairly old i would say about 5 years but it has always worked fine until now

Did she defrost it by switching it off and leaving it? or did she help along with a knife?Clyde 8)

It’s definitley a system failure I’m afraid.
Either the compressor is failing or there is little or no gas in the unit which is why Clive asked about the defrost process. As it was working before, if any attempt was made with a sharp implement to remove any ice it’s very easy to puncture the internal pipework.
Engineer time to confirm, unless you inspect the inside of the freezer for any punture marks, if there are any, then it’s a new fridge/freezer 🙁
