We have a Creda IW160D washing machine that has just given up.

When we press the main on-off button on its pannel the mains indicator light blips on for a split second and goes off. Power fails to stay and there is a sudden clunk in the our water pipes as if it nearly started to take water but stopped because the power switch doesn’t stay on.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
I would be very greatfull for a responce as the machine is in bits in the kitchen at the moment.

    Yours hopefully

    Now we know our ABC…..
    Evening CM,
This is almost certainly a power supply failure to one of the boards. Power board is c. £70; control board is an awful lot more – quite seriously, I’d get some pro help – VERY awkward to diagnose correctly and expensive if you get it wrong.

    Regards,
    Penguin45.

I have had a ‘Pro’ to look at the machine and it turned out to be the on/off switch that had gone. They are very easy to get to removing the lid off the top of the machine to get to the row of switches. He spent 5 minutes and quoted £47 ‘Ouch’. He has temporarily put a switch on untill the correct swich arrives. Be sure you get the correct switch as mine is on when pressed in and the temp switch is on when de-pressed.

Still I wouldn’t have known without his help.

Please can you place an item link to the On/Off switch for the IW160D as this was the problem. After 2 years of use I think everybodies will start to go too.

    Thanks
