ParticipantHello all, new to this site and would love some advise.
I have a Creda double oven 48167 T, last couple of weeks the main oven has been taking an age reaching temperature, fans working, door seal ok, thermostat light comes on and goes off but the oven has not reached the correct temp, no where near?
Tried to use it last night and got warm (not hot)and failed to cook anything.
Any advise would be great.Thanks

if the thermostat light goes out then it will stop heating until it comes back on again. if that is the case then
it either
1 the temperature sensor in the oven has come loose and is now either touching or too close to the element. your looking for a long thin silver rod with a thin wire coming out of one end. beware this is not electrical and the wire is full of oil. if it breaks while your handling it then its scrap. it is fairly tough but keep bending to a minimum
2 the thermosat has failed. this will mean you have to replace the control behind the knob but it also includes the sensor above so you have to strip the panels of the unit to thread it throughHope it helps

Thanks Dave,
I was thinking it could only be the stat, i’ll have a look and post my findings.October 4, 2014 at 10:27 am #420021flashheart8

Hi Dave,
The stat is in place with nothing loose, all spade connectors behind the switch look fine.
I take it there is no way of checking the stat and the only way to be sure is to replace it?October 4, 2014 at 10:37 am #420022SAMURI

It may be the fan oven element faulty.
Set the oven on fan heating only and check to see if the stat cuts out and if any heat is produced.
If the light stays on and the stat does not cut out it will be the fan element.

Quick update for any similar problems.
The main oven fan was working but on closer examination, it stalled periodically and has now stopped completely (works with a helping hand from a screwdriver but not advised).
A little harder to change as it means taking the back off the oven to, new part only £14.
Thanks for the help guys. -
