Creda Model 48345 Concept Halogen

Hi all,

I have the model as listed above and it has developed a problem with one of the dual circuit rings. It fails to respond to any control settings, i.e. it comes on full regardless of the control setting. It turns on and off ok, it just does not respond to any setting on the dial.

Both sides of the ring are the same. Either one, or both together, will work on full but neither respond to the dial other than on and off.

Having a nose around I’m taking a guess at the energy regulator for that ring, does that sound likely and if so are they hard to get at?

It is almost certainly the regulator. It is not the easiest appliance on which to access the controls, both side panels, complete hob and several other bits & bobs need removing to get at the controls. A tricky job, even for the pro’s.

Part not over expensive so I would suggest getting a local independant engineer out to have a look. Try our repairs@ service to see if we have someone who can help.

Please make sure the mains power is off if you intend to proceed yourself.

Cheers iadom, everything pointed to the regulator but theres no harm in asking. 🙂

I’ll have a look myself first, if it gets too complicated I’ll look up the list.

Haven’t got around to looking at this yet but there have been some developments since the last post. Namely, 2 more of the rings are now doing the same thing.

Is this just an unhappy coincidence that they (the regulators) are failing at the same time or is there something common to all the rings.?

seems like its not your day, just a coincidence I would say, they do fail with use/age so not to unusual.

Cheers for that iadom. I think the higher power of the house is now thoroughly fed up with it, may veto the repair and instead make the credit card company even happier. 🙂

you wont buy a modern cooker with the same quality
