ParticipantHi,
OK I have a bit of a weird one….
My Creda Reflection 48196 has an odd problem whereby when you are using the Main oven, after a period of time the entire Cooker will “Appear” to switch itself off, by that I mean the fan/cooker stops and the clock goes off. The Trip switch of the house is not tripeed, so I’m assuming it’s not a bad Earth.
After a little while you can hear the odd click, but nothing happens, if you switch the oven off and then on at the wall socket if it has cooled down a little it will restart, and then the cycle continues.
I’ve turned the main oven on and to the highest temp as a test and I’ve sat and watched for 13 minutes and the Orange light on front display nearest the clocks clicks on and off (I’m assuming this is the main oven thermostat doing it’s job). and then for some reason the whole thing appears to switch off. The fan in the main oven has been running.
I’ve run the same test with with the top oven and that run at full temperature for 40+ minutes before I got bored.
If the Fan Oven Element was faulty (I have not had time to check the continuity as this only happened this evening) then I would assume that it would trip the Trip Switch as the continuity in the Fan Oven Element would be broken and hence trip the switch.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as this is an odd problem, I don’t mind if the problem is terminal for the cooker (although I’d rather not buy a new one) as I just want to know what’s causing it!
Hope to hear from someone who may have a solution or something else to test 🙂

The only cut out I can see is for the top oven and that should still keep the small cooling fan running.
When the display goes dead can you still run the top oven?It does point towards a breakdown inside the main control unit which at around £88 is possibly a little too much on an oven that already has lots of components listed as obsolete. 🙁

I’m trying to get someone to check now with regards to the Top Oven, If I can track the problem down to just that component then I’d be more than happy to replace it, and the TL Tube for the front display, as a replacement is going to be £550-£600 🙁
