I’ve inherited a Reversair tumble, My problem is i switch it on and its fine for approx 20-25mins then bang it trips my fuse box. Now i’ve checked the fuse in plug and wiring all ok, took the back off (the covering the heater) hoovered it out (pretty dusty) checked all the wiring nothing appears to frayed or shorting out. Heater element looks ok can’t see any breaks in the wiring. So I’m now out of ideas so any help is really welcome please.

Unless you have access to a megger or suitable multimeter and know how to use one then it is time to “get someone in”. 😉

Or just isolate the element. If it still trips probably motor, if it runs longer it’ll be element.

Stupid question i’m pretty cute when it comes to electronics but as a tumble i’m a little clueless wots the best way to isolate the heater. I take it i pull the spade terminals of the heater element and link them without the heater in situe.

No no. Don’t link anything together or boooom. Get someone in to look at it

Right had my brother in law take a look at it, the bottom line is the machine seems to trip when the timer hit a certain point. Just to check we isolated the door switch, same thing. Checked all the continuity that came back all fine. So we think it is the timer/programme dial, the only problem we’ve got is we can’t seem to get the bl**dy thing out any suggestions or is it not worth finding one.

You don’t check continuity when trying to find an earth or short circuit fault. ❓

My suggestion is the same as before, get someone who knows what they are doing to look at it.

Forgot to mention that my brother in law is an electrical engineer. When i mean continuity everything read normal voltage until it tripped when the switch was turned then just before the dial got to the trip point the voltage spiked big time.
