Creda S 150 E oven

Fan oven element was gone, went with a bang apparently. Fitted a new element and fan is working but still no heat. Thermostat is ok and the little orange light comes on even though when the stat is turned off the light glows half brightness.. Cut outs seem ok. Neutral at the element but no live. Would it be that big selector switch? Had a look and nothing seems burned. Anyone come across this?

I would look at the selector switch. I had one once – think it was Hotpoint and it was a tiny link that had blown out of the switch. Took some finding but was an easy fix, I don’t think I even had to change the switch, Im sure I got round it with some heat resistant wire and a couple of spade tags..

Thanks, you could be on to something there because when i traced the wire back to the switch it always led ( after a few loops) to an open contact on the switch which didn’t make sense to me, thought i was going mad!
