ParticipantHi Folks
Does anyone know of an alternate pump to fit this spin drier – gen part no is 1000052 but it’s £64 from Connect retailing at £90 which is ridiculus as the drier only retails about £120/£140
Also is there a special tool to remove these new type metal hose clips that look like they just ratchet together – come across them on d/washers as well – atm just prising them off and fitting proper jublie clip but looks like they might becoming more popular – so if there is a special tool for getting them on and off would be obliged if you could let me know..
Thanks

There’s two version of pump on this model (serial number required) although they both look very similar.
The old AEG drain pump with small inlet and outlet looks a likely replacement, it’s Masterpart’s AG5102 for a picture. I do hope they’re not still supplying GRE pumps though 😉

1000052 is the correct part number in that case 🙂
No decent picture of the pump though but in the diagram on partfinder it does look like that AEG one.

The tool is available from Halfords for the clip is used in the autotrade.
You can use a terminal driver or slightly wider to insert in the clinched head. slightly twist which eases the clip apart.
When re fitting reinstall and use a pair of sidecutters to squeeze the head again and hey presto a good clip once more.
The tool costs around £15 better results seem possible using the above method.
Hope this helps.June 5, 2006 at 8:16 am #178224MickGeorge

Thanks for the help folks.. tried prising these pesky clips apart but always seem to damage the clip beyond repair so will try and be more carefull next time.. will also try Halfords and see if the tool any better.. taking picure of pump to cust see if that looks like it might fit otherwise looks like I will end up loosing call due to pump expense.. can’t bielive it.. heck.. i’m sounding like Victor Meldrew… 🙁

Been back to call today with AGE pump picture looks like a no fit as outlet looks bigger and at the wrong angle.. original pump has outlet at 90deg to housing.. so repair was lost do to Hotpoint pricing policy making it an unviable repair due to cost… (grump)..
Thanks for your help though..
