ParticipantFolks,
This is my last point of contact before i throw my SolarGlo Model 48341 out the window.
My problem is
three 3 out of the 4 ring on the ceramic hob do not work (when you turn the dial there is no click, whereas on the remaining one that does work there is a click – does that help) ?My biggest problem is knowing how to access the hob in order to either
A) Change the ring elements
B) Fit new thermostats on the faulty knobs.I have had the cooker out and removed every nut and bolt on it, but can i get the hob to come off !! No chance. I’m so hoping and praying that someone in here can enlighten us unfortunate Creda Solarglo customers, as to what to do and the steps to take – as i’m beat 🙁
Thanks
Peter

Why throw it out, why not get someone who knows what they are doing to fix it. 😉 🙂
Takes me about five minutes to remove the hob. 8)
Not the easiest to access TBH, both side panels have to come off to access the screws that hold the hob at the front, screws at the back also.
To access the regulators is also a bit tricky. All of the knobs and buttons have to be pulled off and then with a great deal of care it is just possible to replace the individual regulators, always assuming they are faulty of course, no click is usually a sign of a faulty regulator though.
A couple of different regulators as well to watch out for. As the elements vary from around £45 to £60 you do need to make absolutely certain they are faulty first.
One last word of caution, its very likely that the replacement regulators will be from a different manufacturer. Also the wiring connections on the elements has changed. Unfortunately it is very unlikely that any wiring instructions will be included.

Thanks IADOM – pity you are not from NI !!
My problem is that i don’t want to throw stupid money at this and when fixed something else then breaks…. so i thought that if i could DIY it, then perhaps with just the parts it would be feasible to keep the old bird working.

Most of the parts are available and it is a very solid, well made piece of kit but it is getting a bit long in the tooth.
If the overall condition is good then it should be worth sorting out if it is just the regulators that are at fault.
