KeymasterHi there,
Our Creda T601CW dryer recently stopped heating (drum still spins, fans still run etc) – we’ve cleaned out all the seals, filters and emptied the water etc.
I’m guessing the thermostat or heating element has expired, and we’ll need a service call but I thought I’d check if there’s actually a simple solution to the problem?
Any help/advice would be very much appreciated. Cheers, Tom.

if it is the condensor sort usually there is 2 thermostats on top of the element only one usually goes but change both because when one goes usually makes the other one weaker remember pull the plug and if in any doubt get an engineer 😉

KeymasterThanks very much for the help people, would changing the thermostats be a complicated job? I know a little about electronics but don’t wanna be messing around with anything that could go really wrong. Where could I get hold of replacements?
We would call out an engineer but were quoted £100 for the call-out & repair, think we’d rather get a new dryer. However if I can fix it myself, that’d be the best.

The thermostats are quite straightforwaard to change, just remove the rear panel of the dryer, they are right there on top of the heating element.
The thermostat kit (2 in a pack) is part number 1701583, available from our shop here:

KeymasterDave, thanks a lot for that, gotta be worth a go I think. How long does delivery take on that item? Domestic life is falling apart without a working dryer!

Two and a half years later, but can I offer thanks for the existence of this thread. I had exactly this problem, but thanks to getting the thermostats mentioned and fitting them myself, the dryer works again.
Many thanks to all concerned.
