ParticipantHi all,
Have a Creda T620CW tumble dryer that is cutting out. Will run for approx. 10 mins then cuts out, won’t restart for 30 secs or so.
Suspect it to be the one of the relays, or the thermostat.
Following a similar thread I tried running it in the cool down mode to see if it cut out – it didn’t, but the cool down phase is about 10 minutes, so difficult to tell if it would have before reaching the end of the timer. The odd thing during the cool-down was that the heater was on and the drum seemed to reach normal operating temps. I don’t recall it heating in this mode (when it was working ok) and whether it should be doing this.
Have had the covers off, a good clean with the Dyson and checked for any loose connections, etc – all seems fine.
Any advice/help greatly appreciated. If you need any specific info just ask.
TIA,

Is the most common cause of your fault. When it cuts out does it start if you press the start button but then stop as soon as you release it, if it does then that is a relay fault.

Hi iadom, thanks for the reply.
Carried out a quick test tonight and no it doesn’t restart or continue if the start button is depressed. I’m wondering if it’s a thermal cut-out/thermostat problem as the machine initially ran ok for about 10 mins, then cut out and wouldn’t do anything for a few minutes. Pressing the start button after this time allowed it to continue for 30secs-1min, then cutting out again.
Based on this any thoughts/guidance as to what may be the cause?
Cheers,

Based on 42 years experience I would be changing the relay. 😉

Hi iadom,
Just to complete this thread I replaced the relay as suggested and the machine is working like a dream now 😀
Many, many thanks for taking the time to reply and point me in the right direction.
Cheers,
Neil. -
