I HAVE A CREDA CONDENSER DRYER (T622CW) AND OVER THE COURSE OF THE LAST FEW MONTHS THE THERMOSTAT HAS GONE ABOUT 4 TIMES! THE THING IS IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN IF IT IS SWITCHED TO COOL HEAT,DOES THIS MEAN THE PROBLEM IS SOMETHING ELSE OR IS IT JUST A COINCIDENSE (SORRY FOR THE SPELLING)?? ALSO I HAVE NOTICED THE EMPTY WATER LIGHT IS LIT UP EVER SO SLIGHTLY. I WOULD BE GREATFULL FOR ANY HELP BEFORE I SPEND ANOTHER PENNY ON ANOTHER THERMOSTAT 😆

    Re: CREDA T622CW

Common reasons for overheat stat tripping are:

Condenser monoblock clagged up and restricting airflow.
Door channel full of fluff and restricting airflow.
Inadequate ventilation around the machine restricting airflow (people actually put them in cupboards and shut the door!).

The single commonest cause of failure is people setting the dryer to 90 minutes, then popping the door open after an hour “To see how they’re doing”. This stops the airflow altogether, instant soaring rise in temperature and “Ping!”, the safety trips……….

Control thermostat runs at 106c, safety trips at 130c, so you don’t have much leeway.
