Hi, the belt on my dryer has snapped and i’m trying to find a replacement. I’ve had a look in shop@ UK Whitegoods but can’t find one matching my model number (Creda T662CW). Does anyone know if there is an alternative belt I can use? I’ve had a look on other parts sites but for some reason my model number is either not listed or it’s listed as a washing machine!!??

1701141 is what you want, about a tenner IIRC. Email with part nuimber to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should get things moving for you.

    Oh, there’ll be VAT & p+p.

    Regards,

    Thanks for the help 😀
Do you think replacing the belt is something I could do myself? I normally like to have a go at something before calling in the experts. Is there anything I should be aware of before or during the fitting?
    thanks again. 🙂

    Re: Creda T622CW condenser dryer

Changing belts on tumble dryers is not easy. This particular one involves a fair bit of dismantling, it would be difficult to go into great detail in a public forum. It is like Chris Tarrant always says, “its only easy if you know the answer”. 😉

We cannot assess your capabilties, only you know that. If you do go ahead, make sure to remove the plug and watch the bare metal edges, they are very sharp.

    If in doubt look here

I see more tumble dryers that the general public has ‘had a go at’ particularly when changing the belt, and made a complete horlicks of, than most other basic faults.

    Heh-heh, thanks for the advice.
I think I’ll phone the “man who can” for this one.
