    The heater on my tumble dryer has given up the ghost and stays cool. I’ve ordered a spare heater from Hotpoint and I’m looking for advice on how to access the part within the unit.

    Joe,

    I would guess the problem is in fact NOT the element at all but that the Thermostats (Part No : 1701583) have blown.

    Both element and thermostats are accessed by removing the metal cover off the rear completely.
