My tumble dryer has problems with water removal

The water is passing through the filters but does not reach the removal
    compartment.

This is causing water to build up at the base of the dryer and trigger the empty water light, therefore no heat.

How can I fix this, checked all pipes etc, no luck.

Does the water get pumped away?

Possible blockage in the pipes running up the back of the machine, especially in the spout feeding the water drawer. Pump blockage also possible – the pump is in the box at the bottom rear under the tubes.

Power off before removing any cover.

thanks, tried taking off the cover to look at the pump but, is there a certain way to do it. It is awkward to remove and i dont want to damage it.

There are a pair of locking tabs which needed to be pushed aside (towards the outside from memory, ie RH to the right, LH to the left). Fiddly, but not difficult,

Finally had a chance to look at the pump.

No luck with any blockages, does this mean a new pump?

Does it turn? Is there a circuit through it (resistance check required)?

Pump is p/no 1702988 if required – spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly.
