right where do i start.iwas called to said tumble dryer this week, customer said there was no drum rotation.simple enough i thought.off came the lid and side panel, one nackered capacitor.replaced it and away it went job done.5 miles down the road customer phones to say its not heating, back we go and find one shot device was open circuit should have checked for heat b4 i left it,new thermostat kit(c00116598) fitted heating problem sorted anyway it transpirers that the dryer now keeps stopping or should i say the drum stops rotating after about 15-20 minutes but the pump is still running.filter in door clear, water container ok,condencerunit spotless, leave it for a while and it’ll restart only to cut out again after a period of time.any sugestions (polite ones of course).

    frustrated! 😡

Start/run relay in the control panel?

relay in behind the control panel is my guess. Had quite a few of these go intermittent.

1703616 is shown as a ‘relay and led’ its not got the more traditional relay or that one.

If the relay/control unit was faulty, surely the whole appliance would die and not come back on until it was started again.

I would go for the thermal overload in the motor… Did you fit the correct rating capacitor? 7uF I think…

haveing checked availability, would’nt you know it,masterpart, seme and spareslink only do the relay as a special order, what a pain.

GUYS,TO CUT A LONG STORY SHORT IT TURNS OUT I HAVE A THREE MONTH OLD TCR2 IN THE GARAGE WHICH I FORGOT I HAD,ANYWAY A FEW OF YOU MENTIONED A RELAY,I HATE TO SAY THIS BUT HAVING STRIPPED MINE DOWN I CAN HONESTLY SAY THERE’S NO RELAY FITTED TO THIS MODEL.SO I’LL HAVE TO GO WITH BOB’S IDEA OF THE MOTOR OVERLOAD OR CONSIDER POSSIBLE TIMER FAULT.ILL LET YOU KNOW HOW I GET ON.

    …as you do!

Think the relay is on the board behind the console, isnt it? not saying that is your problem though.

if its only 3 months old, the relay is part of the door lock…

its classed as a bitron door lock, if you look on partfinder, there is 2 listed, depending on SERIAL number

so there is a relay on either model, depends how old it is

if u wanna check, if you try and start dryer with door open, if it buzzes, the relay is in the lock!

not that it matters, cos the fault you got is common.. its the timer thats faulty.. theres a burned contact , so the machine wont tumble after a while

fitted loads of em, worst dryer on market!!
