Hi, I have a Creda W120VW/Hotpoint WM64 call it what you will, I’ve had it a few months now (purchased second hand).

On starting the cycle, the machine tumbles as normal and sounds perfectly fine, maybe 5 minutes into the cycle, when the machine tumbles it makes a sort of gravelly metallic grating noise (its the best way I can think of describing it).

And also after a spin cycle when the machine is “anti-creasing” the drum makes a squeaking noise, like a rubber rubbing noise.

I’m fairly sure it isn’t the bearings as I’ve tested for that, the drum spins freely and smoothly and there is no “up-and-down” play on the drum.

Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

Maybe theres a problem with a motor bearing rather than the drumm bearing. Or maybe a bra underwire or similar is stuck between drum & tub& is causing scraping noise.

or one of the springs has worn thru plastic support on the carcass. plug out then lid off.
