ParticipantCreda W200FW 13 months old with door locked light flashing. Changed door interlock and selected spin to test it. Ran for 15 secs then shut down with light flashing again. Is it a board fault?

From Partfinder.
“Module change
From May 2004 (Date Code 29) the control module used on the production of models W200FW, W220VW & WMA5P ?? (think that is an error) changed back to an earlier version of software. As a result of this change, the above models cannot be programmed to the control module previously used in service for these models. To resolve this situation a new control module (1604769) is now available to be used as a replacement for these models.”Personally I would do a full component/wiring check before changing the PCB. Unfortunately, I only have the details of how to run a component test on Hotpoint machines, and the procedure varies depending on the different controls and option buttons.
EDITED to correct model number. 😳July 2, 2005 at 11:36 pm #140130electrofix

sorry, misprint in my earlier post, it should have been W200FW not FE.
1604769 is correct part according to latest Partfinder.
As you are in Carlisle, why not send the module to QER, they are very close to you and like EMW will test/repair/replace this type of module.
Both QER & EMW offer very speedy service.July 3, 2005 at 4:58 pm #140133geoffmackay

Thanks iadom, yes use both companies. Giving customer option of both repair or brand new. Just wanted to be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure before going back to fit parts.
Thanks again

When the door interlocks blow on these machines they often take out the triac that drives them. This is a surface mounted device on the extreme lower right of the board (tracks side up and edge connectors facing you). These triacs are black and about 4mm x 7mm (there are 5 of these on the board that drive the pump, valves & interlock). They are fairly easy to replace with a gas powered iron fitted with a hot air tip and some fine solder. It is a 5 min job. I have done quite a few of these with a 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} success rate. Very occasionally the transistor that sits behind this triac may go faulty, this is much smaller and a bit more difficult, but with patience possible.
CPC do a nice SMD rework kit PN: SD00694 @ £22.50 + VAT this includes some pointed tweezers which are great for handling the little suckers.
Also a bottle of low residue flux (liquid) PN: SD00085. £5.86 + VAT
You can use solder paste but a fine solder PN: SD00071 £3.83 + VAT is OK.
For parts scrap a WMA board this will give you 5 interlock repairs alone!
A drop of flux and quick blast with the hot air tip and the old componant will lift off. A drop of flux on the pads, drop the replacement triac in position and a quick re-heat to run the solder. The triac will centralise itself on the pads. Then apply a bit of solder if required. Bung it back in the machine with a new interlock – sorted. Stick £20 or whatever extra on the bill for the module repair and receive customers hero worship for saving them £XX for a new module.

Guys have this fault on Creda w220vw. Door light flashes after a few seconds of pushing start button. Does not lock door. Have changed door lock and checked all main components and wiring loom. From the previous posts are you saying its the pcb? Visually looks fine
Cheers Pinky

pinky dude also check the door handle spring as if these are worn or broken then the latch doesnt engage the door interlock correctly.

Participantand it might be worth having a look at the brushes before you change the pcb… the lock connections on the same plug on the pcb!

Cheers Guys, Tried holding the lock manually and checked brushes before trying a door lock.
