ParticipantHoping someone can point me in the right direction…
CREDA washer drier WD1200 – washes but no spin.
Checked so far..pump drains OK and clear of blockages. All connections to motor show connectivity from PCB to motor connections. Given PCB the once over and looks OK.Interlock OK, and have tried with pressure tube removed. Pressure switch OK.When i put on a spin programme, it drains for a short time and then just sits there with the timer clicking away for a minute and then just stops.
One thing I have found is that there is connectivity between pins 6 and 7 at the motor (tacho I believe) ,, should there be or does this mean the tacho sensor is duff? ❓Any advice appreciated, sorry if responses are slow, I am on nightshift at the mo! 🙁

If you have checked all of the above, including the motor brushes and it runs smoothly whilst on a wash programme then the tacho is fine and sadly it points to a very rare failure of the control units internal switches. 😥

Thank muchly…thats what i feared!
The hisory to this is that wires 1 and 7 from the pcb may have shorted i believe..would that explain it ❓November 14, 2012 at 7:59 pm #384785iadom

It is a possibility, I have seen a pressure switch cause this fault on one or two occasions though. Even though the switch may appear to click when you blow up the pipe it can still be faulty.

OK thanks so much for your invaluable advice – really kind of you. Hoping to replace the timer – fingers crossed 😉
Mind you it’s a very old machine that I have managed to keep going despite numerous breakdowns – might be time to replace! Which of the current washer driers would anyone on here recommend for reliability and ease of home maintenance ❓
ThanksNovember 15, 2012 at 5:21 pm #384787iadom

You will be hard pressed to find any experienced engineer who would recommend any washer dryer. 😉
If really pushed then most would say Miele and forget the rest.

I dont think any manufacturer makes a machine that is easy for home maintenance, washer dryers are the least reliable white good, if you have to have one look at Bosch Siemens or miele(sit down first)

Thanks for the advice guys…I guessed the response would be along those lines…W/driers have a bad reputation, even amongst us non-technical folk 😉 I have had this one for ages and have had to repair it dozens of times!!
