    Hey guys,

I’ve got a client with one of these ancient ovens that has what I believe is an intermittent working oven fan. The oven element will work until switched off, but the fan seems to cut out always after 3 minutes and not turn back on.

I’ve had a look at the back of the oven and I can’t find a thermal cut out anywhere obvious.

    So my query is:

1 – Where is the stat on these ovens?
2 – Should I just replace the fan or is there something else I need to check first?
3 – Why would the fan cut out at approx 3 minutes?

    Cheers

Model number might help. 😉 Some early fan motors had an internal TOC.

Worth checking the door switch on these.

These have a small rear cooling fan on the motor which just pushes on and was a common problem for the rubber to perish and it drops off and the fan motor over heats and cuts out just as you discribe (connects no for blade is 5031682153123)

have you check for power to the fan motor when it goes off

that would seal the problem does sound like the motor

Thanks everyone. I would’ve tested for 240v after 3 minutes if it wasn’t such a pain in the rear to take the oven out and the customer hadn’t used the appliance just before the appointment. :rolls:
