crosslee/wpl td door and stat

hi guys,
WPL AWG210/1 vented dryer. same as the crosslee 4Kg drier.
the door “glass/plastic porthole” has melted on this dryer.
I presume that it must be getting too hot in the drum , is the temperature controlled off the exhaust stat on this model? if i remember correctly it’s a 60 deg. stat.
or is it controlled from the twin black lead stat situated by the heater?

The temp sensing is on the heater plate, the exhaust stat is just an emergency cut-off. If the door has melted then certainly the main stat and overheat stat (on the element plate) need changing as well as the exhaust stat (optional). 😉

Air flow is everything on this model and the fan and vent hose need close inspection. Make sure the fan hasn’t any broken blades or crudded up too!

thanks for that,

so by the main stat you mean the inlet stat with 2 black leads(421307848363)
the overheat stat i presume you mean the manual reset stat with the red button(421307850161)
