ParticipantThe empty water container light stays on after container has been emptied & this inhibits the heaters coming on.
Any suggestions?

Possibly sticking or faulty float micro switch, could also be gunged up float chamber.
Model number is always a good way to help us help you. 😉Jim.

With extreme difficulty, its buried deep inside the machine, under the drum and just behind the motor. Access is rather awkward to say the least, removal of the drum is perhaps the best way to get at it TBH.
I have actually changed one without removing the drum, I had the scars for weeks afterwards.

Thks for that advice.
I have had the front off for a belt change but have never removed a drum.

I would always remove the drum but leave the front in situ to change a belt.
If you have gone as far as removing the front in the past, then the the drum is only held on by a small pin through the drum shaft, you will find that behind the small cup shaped cover on the back.

What a pain in the butt to fix!!
Virtually had to strip the machine down to get at the float that was stuck.
Fixed that and I now find that the auto temp reset thermistor has gone open circuit. LOL.I also need to get some of the little plastic pegs that hold the sides on.
Any idea where I can get these from ?January 28, 2008 at 11:11 pm #240638iadom

Part number C00095525, pack of six. Around £3.50 ex vat. An e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk would get you the pegs but there may be a few days delay. If you can find at least four of the old ones and put them back at the top and bottom of the side panels you should be OK.
No thermistors on these. 😉 The left hand stat at the back is the ‘one shot’ safety stat, the right hand stat is the temp control stat. Two different kits for these stats, would need the first two numbers of the serial number to ID correct parts.
