ParticipantI have replaced the thermostats 130C green spot and 106C. The Auto Reset 130C had gone open circuit.
But the tumble dryer is still cutting out after a few minutes.
Heater is working
Fan is blowing
Drum will revolve if start button is held in
Water tank is empty
Fluff filter is clean
Motor compartment has been vacuumed out
No apparent blockagesAny suggestions as to what is stopping the dryer?
It’s a 6kg Condenser Dryer

Hi
Does the drier cut out and take a while before you can start it again? This and having to hold start button in suggests that the relay is at fault.
SWITCH OFF AND UNPLUG BEFORE REMOVING LID.
Relay is situated behind control panel in the middle.Black transparent plastic and held in place with 2 screws.
Replacement is available from

Once the drier cuts out, it takes several minutes to “reset”
Thank you for pointing me at the start relay. Visual inspection after removal does not show any signs of distress. Is it worth energising the coil and seeing if the contact holds?
I guess Crusader reduced the height of the machine because its an awkward thing to get out.
Took photos of the leads when still in place.

Crusader didn’t do anything, Crusader is a name only, once owned by GDA but now the property of the Indesit Company. What you have is basically a Creda/Hotpoint dryer. Crusader was an old Creda brand name now used for machines sold through specific outlets.
Nothing has been reduced, there is not much room to get the relay out, snipping the plastic cable tie will give you a little more room.
There is rarely any visible signs of failure but it is a common fault.

Thank you for the advice. My tumble dryer is getting through the whole cycle.
There were a couple of extra connectors on the relay supplied. The extra one on the side being used for switching does not seem to go live during the on/off cycle according to my tester, so I left it uncovered.
Might have a go at swoping the door round now.
