My old Crusader condenser dryer (model 37667, serial 67100233) has started making a noise like it can’t catch it’s breath. When I turn the drum manually it makes the same noise so I think it might be the bearings. Any advice would be helpful so I can decide if it needs to be retired.

    Thanks

Rear bearing can be seen by removing the small cover in the centre rear of the machine. For everything else, remove lid and r/h side panel. Motor bearings, fans and worn carriers can all generate interesting noises.

    Power off first, of course.

Thanks. I’m not helpful here as I can only use common sense. I took the rear cover off. Couldn’t see anything wrong. The fan rotated quietly. Took off top – Didn’t really know what I was looking for. Some noise apparently from front of drum – bearings? – but I’d expect that. When I took the side off the noise that was like I’d been hearing seemed to come from beneath the drum but I couldn’t tell what.
