CTD00 – White spot

Hi,

Can some one just confirm that I’m correct in saying that Hotp CTD00 range should be fitted with white spot stat kits (1703200). All my manuals say it’s a white spot as well as checking with suppliers.

I was called to look at TD by a lady as she’d been messed around by a local Engineer.

I called, said I thought it would require a state kit. Was about to check, it but must have mentioned that it requires a white state kit. Customer said no it’s a green spot kit.

Sure enough, undid the 2 screws he’d left in and green one shot had gone.

I said I’d be back tomorrow PM to fit a new stat kit and check appliance over for other faults but customer wants me to confirm that the previous guy has fitted the wrong part (this is the second repair in a many months I believe).

I don’t want to get in to an argument with another local engineer. The customer is quite a hot headed lady and likely to go to his shop tell him as much and probably quote my name. She’s determined to get her money back !!

I know people fit other stats just to get the job done. I don’t, even if its a slightly cooler running kit – end of story. Seen too many TD fires and problems. I know it’s quite a common problem.
