You have to laugh at the current Curry’s advert on tv. They are making out they are doing everyone a service by taking customers appliances away and WEEcycling them! How nice and thoughtfull of them.

Yeah, probably branded as “speculators” by some in the industry. Those that wish they’d seen the errors of their ways before they came back to haunt them. 😉

Currys web site in the refrigeration section

Currys wrote: Free delivery, connection, collection and recycling

It may well be :rolls: , however they are certainly charging more to supply and deliver than we would charge.

    Re: Curry’s advert

I was watching TV the other day, and I saw that ad about five times. I was nearly vomitting (from every orriface!)

Speaking of big faceless, evil, POS, companies (auther’s opinion), I’ve heard that arg*s is charging £5 (after 1st July) for taking old appliances. Doesn’t the WEEE directive say that the retailer should offer free WEEE takeback?

Ps. Hi BTW, been on holiday 😀

I was about to write something criticising their ads (and also commending them for their genious and cheek) when I found this thread. I was about to say everyone’s obliged to do the same but funnily enough John Lewis are still advertising that they charge nine pounds to take the old one away. Have they just forgotten to change their website?
