Curry’s essentials c510wm13 belt misaligned

Hi all, first post here so apologies if any etiquette is missed,

Belt snapped on the above washing machine. Ordered new belt and tried to fit it today. I originally put it on the middle grooves of the motor pulley, but it slipped forward (towards the door) off the drum pulley. So I put it further back on the motor pulley as I figures it might not be aligned. Same thing happened. Put it even further back, right on the last set of grooves on the motor pulley, which worked when turning by hand until I did a test cycle, where it came off forwards again.

I can’t seem to get the belt to align between the two pulleys as when it is as far back as possible on the motor pulley, it still falls off the front of the drum pulley. I have looked over the pulleys and motor and nothing seems amiss, no loose parts or obvious cracks.

Am I missing something obvious or is this a sign of a bigger issue? Is there any adjustability on how far the motor pulley pokes out?

Just trying to weigh up options – keep tinkering, call an engineer, or replace it.

Any advice is welcome, let me know if I have missed any vital information.

sound like the drum pulley is out of line at best a loose pulley at worst a new drum

has it been making a lot of noise of late

to sum up these are rubbish machines built to a budget. ie pay for rubbish you get rubbish

It has been a bit noisier recently so sounds like it was a cheap washer reaching the end of its lifespan – bought it about 2.5 years ago.

Drum pulley isn’t loose so it sounds like a bigger issue – not worth looking into on a machine this cheap. Was hoping I could tinker and get another six months (to avoid buying a new washer at Christmas) but will just look to replace now.

The washer suited budget and requirements when I bought it but time to upgrade to a decent washer I think.

Front drum bearing u/s. Don`t think this machine has a sealed tank so feasable to repair so long as spider hub not damage- could well be. I`ll check for you.
If it`s any consolation last week I went to a 3 year AEG with worn bearings and that had a sealed tank, 4 months ago I went to a £500 Samsung 2.5 years old with knackered drum bearings too- what do you call a decent washer, what do you do, buy a Miele they`re great fun until the pcb fails out of warranty. Dave as much as I admire you even you know that most stuff regardless of price is challenged- ISE was and those things weren`t 200 quid, maybe this guy just got unlucky just like Hotpoint Aqualtis …. Zanussi ….Bosch owners.

Yep you can change the bearings if you want to. Bearing sizes are 6204 and 6205 and should cost you circ a fiver or less each. The oil seal can`t find the sizes but it`ll be a common size perhaps the same as a Hotpoint wm series. Your only issue is that it`s been thrashed knowing there is a problem….if it was the drum shaft and oil hub will be zapped and if so you`ll have to put that one down to experience. So long as the tank seal remains in one piece you can use silicon sealant on reassemble. There you go, that`ll give you a XMas project and much better than watching the usual TV drivel.
