ParticipantCustomer phones me asking if I will fit a power board to her Hotpoint BS73EX oven. She has ordered one from Hotpoint.
She was given a price of £85.63 delivered, then said she would speak with her husband. The Hotpoint lady asked why she did not want to buy it now and the customer say’s because of the price.
Hotpoint say, hold on and I will see if you can get some discount then returns with the price £54.30.
I don’t know if she does need a board but it looks like my revenue stream
from this call will be down to labour only.

I do not know what has happened recently at Inde group but they have been incredably helpful. Before, without an account I would have to persuade them to give me discount or I had to fax/email the order through so they could confirm I was trade. I ordered some stuff last week and they were unaturally helpful. Got the discount with no hastle, e-mail address for a “personal contact ” that I could e-mail for quotes any time. Ordinarily you get 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} discount on prices quoted on inde/hotpoint service sites.
I’ve been making a point of cross checking their price against suppliers with some surprising results. Only thing is next day express dilivery is £15.00 and snail post is £6.00 so got to weight up that cost.
Mind you, I think that has a lot to do with changes at a certain supplier I’m having serious thoughts about ending business with. Their prices have gone stupid of late…….

but you have also removed your obligation for offerring any warranty on the part, make sure the customer knows it will be her job to handle returns, credits refunds etc should there be a problem.

Good point eastimark.
Spoke with her today and it turns out that the oven works fine but the oven light does not work.
She tried a new bulb with no result and explained this to hotpoint spares who said it was the powerboard she needed.Going Friday to diagnose (suspecting the clock as this has the oven light button included in it).

the oven lamp is supplied by the main pcb, if that needs replacing make sure the eeprom is also ordered as the pcb is blank and is not programed via the smartcard or laptop as per normal.
