KeymasterWow a new topic in here! 😀
Cutbacks, back to the point, right so here’s the thing…
Is there any way that we can condense the stickies and announcements on the forums? I’d like to clear some of the clutter, I did so by arsing about with some of mine tonight, including the deletion of some that were no longer relevant.
Can we combine some?
Is it worth turning some into articles and providing links?
Is it worth doing a “read this before you make an ass of yourself” type announcement with all the info linked in?
I’m open to ideas on the best way to do it, but scrolling through the first page of some of the forums they strike me as wagging the finger a little on some and just plain fussy on many.
Thoughts please chaps?

There’s always room for spring cleaning from time to time that’s for sure. In fact I have deleted one of my stickies in the washing machine forum about ‘washing tips’. It had less views than others besides washing tips are featured nicely in the ‘articles’ navigation bar anyway. 🙂
Caution is best advised though as many stickies have had hundreds of views so they obviously are of some use and our message getting across to some at least. 😉

I think Chris has since done that very nicely, in fact I think it would be useful to use that link on many public posts where they stray just a bit too far and too detailed 😉

Hi
I might of mentioned this chestnut a while back so forgive me if I have.
When a Joe Public joins UKW can they not be sent Chris’s Rules for Advice in the Public Forums as an automated email??Might reduce the amount of stupid questions and repeat gas qustions we get 😀

How about merging some of the posts into a FAQ at the top of each forum?
You’ll still have the same posts, they’ll just be contained in a single thread rather than spread over many
