Went to fit a circular fan oven element on the above oven, the element has studs that are bolted from the rear of the oven but there is a metal plate that covers the majority of the back of the oven including the element nuts with the element terminals sticking through.

This looks like a major strip down to access the nuts. I considered drilling holes in the plate so i could access the nuts with a long socket but in the end managed to pull some of the insulation back and undo the nuts, but it wasn’t easy, I can’t believe this is the way the manufacturers expect you change one of these elements.

Can anyone tell me how you’re supposed to do this one.

Hi. tin snips! cut away the cover, then bend it back, this is the official Brandt advice for repair.

Thanks Cab, I did think about trying to cut it back or drill access holes but I don’t like to cut machines about unless necessary.

Next time the tin snips will be used, it’ll be hell of a lot easier!
