hi, had a daewoo american fridge freezer come in with a fault of not making ice. After some time spent on it i decided to replace the ice maker and also the main module as a precaution. it was left to do its thing over the weekend but the customer rang back saying still no ice has been made. when you push the test button on the ice maker it turns out and fills up with water as should. the machine is down to temperature but is not freezing the water.

is the fan motor running when you shut the door? very common failure on those.

yeah, bizarre symptons as showing -19 and bread and ice cream frozen. yet the water in the ice maker is still liquid. i assumed customer has pressed the ice maker test button just before the visit.

Have done many freezer fans but usually the temp would be part of the reported fault.
I’ve had the module cause ice maker issues too which is why it was also replaced.
I might just fit a fan motor in case it is failing under load.

evaporator fan failing is definitely the fault on this.

has the customer loaded it too the hilt blocking all the vent holes, its a common problem on some air blown side by sides, i normally tell customer to leave at least an inch gap under shelves. 2.5cm in new money. 🙂
