Daewoo DWD M1231 Door wont open

Hi.

Used washing machine earlier. No problems. Gone to use it again tonight – door stuck shut solid.

No fault code, no flashing lights. Machine spins and drains ok when i put it on a programme to test( whilst empty).

Any ideas please?!

Update – Seems as if the latch behind the outer door frame is ‘stuck’.

Tried using a flat object to wedge it back out a bit but no room to manouevre.

Any ideas how i can proceed or do i need to call an engineer?

Thanks for that but my problem is the door is stuck shut. I can’t open it to investigate any further.

I appreciate that fact. The only DIY solution involves removing the top (lid) and get at the interlock from above. Power disconnected first though!!! :zap:

Cheers! I looked at some videos on youtube which said go from underneath but pumps etc in way. Thanks for the advice 🙂

Haha yep! Took the top off, interlock is in an awkward position. Can’t seem to identify where the manual release catch is on it though??

Back to the youtube videos you love they seem to suggest threading a string between the door frame and lock and then manually pulling open is this advisable?

Managed to ‘unstick’ the catch and it just flaps, so not sure whether theres a spring or pin broke. Once i can get the door open i can take the door apart to have a look.

The string or wire trick is a possibility. The better way is (power unplugged first) to push the door striker clear of the interlock. Fiddly but a quick release guaranteed.
