Hello all,
My name is Andy and I am hopeing someone can help with my problem please.
We have a Daewoo FRS 2021 WAl, had it around 5 years from new and up to now without problems.
About 3 weeks back for no reason the whole unit stopped, Lights, Sensor on the front, Fridge and the freezer, the whole thing, like no power to it, I first checked the fuze, okay, then the socket, that was okay, Hmmmm.
took the panal off at the bottom, back to have a look, nothing wrong there.
Told the wife to start looking for a new one, then a number of hours later switched it back on from the socket, and bingo, it worked. GREAT,
All was well untill last night, Then the same thing happened, tried the same as last time but had no luck.
Then turned it on from the socket this morning and again, BINGO it worked again.
This is very strange, I phoned Daewoo and was put in touch with there repair department, was told it would be a fixed £199.00 for a call out, OUCH.
Now, can anybody help me please, anyone have an idea what the problem is and can it be repaired, or would it be better as the unit is 5 years old to just buy a new one.
It has been working all day today without problems, but now I will worrie untill it stops again.

Hi Andy I have exactly the same problem, having the same appliance.
Comet have just introduced a fixed price fee of £99, which includes labour and up to the cost of £150 in parts. I just had the Comet engineer call and he is going to replace the module it it, I’m waiting for the price hoping it will be under the £150. limit.
Will let you know. This website has the module cost at £88 so will see what Comet come back with !!!!. Good luck !

I have a Daewoo FRS U20 DCB American fridge freezer and last year mine had the same fault. The main PCB was replaced and it was working fine again. Now it has just started doing the same fault.
Does anyone know if there is a common fault with these main pcb’s? I cant believe mine has failed again after already being replaced.
