    Hello,
    Now that the AMETEK motor is no longer available, does anyone know if it can be replaced by the alternatives with the addition of a bit of fiddling about or even replacing the housing ?
    Seems a shame to bin the whole machine…

    Hi,
    Firstly sorry for pointing to a competitor but have a look at the Manchester vacs site they have an ametek to ydk conversion kit for the dc04 ( 2 motor rubbers and motor bucket retaining ring ) for about £9 +p&p, buy the motor and you will probably have spent enough for free delivery
