    Hi

Ive posted before tried numorous things, but im at my witts end trying to stop my dishwasher making white streaks on my glasses.

    I have a Zanussi DCS14W Tabletop Machine
    About 7 years old.

I put in very little detergent, as some1 said that as its a tabletop it wont need as much, but it still left the marks.

Ive pulled the hard water plug out the back, as it said pull rubber-plug out for hard water, and that made no difference.

Tried vinegar in wash. And both temperatures, and no difference.

What do you think is wrong, or anything you think needs replacing?

Also as well as glasses, it looks like it makes Knives rusty in spots.

Any help would be great to solve whats wrong.

The rinse-aid is always kept high and i keep the salt container filled.

    thanks

Do the marks come off after you wash the glasses?

Is the cutlery stainless steel or another material?

    Hi

    Yes they are stainless steel.
I have to rinse the glasses under the tap to get the white marks off.

I saw another post from Sgeorge about he thought his problem was a Salt Problem, if so how can i get around that? I use Finish salt.

    Re: DCS14W White/Streaks on Glasses

Hi Sorry I forgot this one. 😳

The rust is likely to be silver touching the stainless, poor quality stainless, salt or acid in the dishwasher or the cutlery sitting too long in the humid atmosphere.

The filming, without seeing it, could be one of many things. The obvious is poor cleaning so check the spray arms etc. are all clear. As helo says check that there’s rinse aid dependent on the detergent being used as that too can cause this.

Interestingly too much salt, too much rinse aid and also too little rinse aid can all produce this effect.

If you can email a decent photo of the filming I may be able to narrow it down a bit more for you.

    Hi

Yes i keep the rinse aid topped up, and the salt.
I fill the salt up to the top when the warning light comes on for low, is this right?

PS i emailed you photo, if not good i can try again.

    Re: DCS14W White/Streaks on Glasses

    Hi,

A friend’s Hotpoint tabletop machine gave white streaks on glassware and cutlery when salt was used in a soft water area. Try letting the salt run out – it may take the best part of a month!

The same machine gave poor results with supermarkets’ own brand rinse-aid. I would recommend Finish, and try setting the dispenser dial below the mid-point; i.e. if the dial has a scale of 1 to 6, try setting at 2.

    Hi

I think im in a hard water area from the Checker on the Calcon website.
    I use finish rinse aid.

Ill let the salt run out then see if that works better, and adjust the dial on the rinse aid.

I did unscrew the sprayer and looked in side and water flowed through it so tht didnt look blocked.
