Its a DD induction hob model WM3559E21. It had a blown circuit board, the smaller filter /power board which had blown at the 2 narrow parts of the printed circuit where the mains comes in as if they are acting as a fuse.. I put this down to a spillage the customer had just before it blew and there was evidence of liquid entering the hob near the point it blew. I fitted a new board today and the toucn panel lit up as normal but as soon as a heat setting for one of the rings was selected it went bang again in the exact same place.
This hob has 2 pairs of rings so the circuits and rings are mirror imaged on the other side (which is still working fine) I have compared resistance readings on the opposite rings and they read about the same so I dont think it is a ring fault. there are 2 other pcb’s. one large complex beast and the touch control board. Neither show any sign of damage or blown track or components. also the cooling fan on the blown side reads the same as the good one so I dont think its that. I am assuming then it is the large pcb at fault but has anyone experience on these that can back me up? also, is it possible the repair the blown board using fuse wire maybe? if so what size?
