ParticipantHi
Had the above freezer for around 5 or 6 years now and yesterday it started bleeping with a temp reading of -11 when normally it reads -18.
Model is DFS620JE
Type is B227446
Prod No is 922 744 715
Ser No is 080500110I think I can hear the compressor kick in from having switched it off but it’s very quiet.
Overnight it’s maintained the -11 but I simply can’t get it to go back to -18.
Any thoughts please?
TIA

The compressor will be very hot to touch if it is running. If it is hot and the freezer is not getting cold enough then you may have a system problem (faulty compressor or refrigerant leak)generally not economical to repair. If the compressor is cold then you may be able to have the unit repaired but I would suggest you leave that to an engineer

Cheers. It’s a built-in jobbie so can’t access the compressor without unscrewing the unit from the cabinet surround 🙁

Have found that their service dept is based where I live in Basingstoke via this website, so I’ve completed their contact form for service and repairs. I’ll see what happens next 😮

De Dietrich have sent Service87 agent round. Apparently the fan is frozen solid in it’s hood at the top of the freezer. Part needs to be ordered and fitted. Another wait 🙁

All fixed 🙂
Fan is a bu99er to replace. Took the engineer and me to hold the casing up whilst he backed himself into the freezer to work on the back of the chiller. Very difficult holding the casing up without stressing the copper refrigerant pipe.
Not the best design I’ve seen 😉
